SUMMARY:Blue Mountain Humane Society Ribbon Cutting
DESCRIPTION:The Blue Mountain Humane Society (BMHS) of the Walla Walla Valley\, \n\nannounced the Grand Opening of the new off-leash dog park. The Bark Park will open on April 7th at 11:00 a.m. following a dedication and ribbon-cutting.\n\n\n\nThe grand opening of the Bark Park represents the completion of phase two of BMHS's "Unleashing a Brighter Future" Capital Campaign. The goal of the campaign is a campus remodel that will create new opportunities to serve the community's companion animals. In particular\, the Bark Park will provide \n\nspace for dog playgroups\, a newly implemented enrichment tool based on the "Dogs Playing For Life" model. This model helps socialize\, evaluate\, and change the lives of shelter dogs.\n\n\n\nIn addition to hosting playgroups\, the park will be open to current BMHS members. Members will have \n\ndaily park access from 12:00 noon to dusk. Memberships are available at the shelter during business hours (Monday Friday: 12noon 6:00 p.m.\, Saturday: 10:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.)\, and online by visiting \n\nwww.bluemountainhumane.org.\n\n\n\n"We are excited to celebrate the completion of phase two of the projects which are being funded by the 'Unleashing a Brighter Future' capital campaign. The BMHS Bark Park is a wonderful way to connect directly with our community and support the bonds that we've helped create between people and their \n\npets\," said Sara Archer\, Executive Director.\n\n\n\nThe public is invited to attend the grand opening ceremony for the BMHS Bark Park on Friday\, April 7th at 11:00 a.m. The park is located across from the BMHS at 7 E. George Street. Following the dedication and ribbon-cutting\, a celebratory first ball toss and a dog playgroup demonstration will take place. Tours of the BMHS facilities will also be available.
