DESCRIPTION:Sebastian Colon came to Walla Walla around 1872\, one of the earliest Latino settlers to arrive in the valley. Born in Spain around 1831\, Colon worked in the placer mines of California before coming to Walla Walla. Here he worked as a freight packer moving mail between Boise\, Idaho\, and Walla Walla. Later Colon opened a restaurant and was eventually nicknamed the "Tamale King of Walla Walla." Sebastian Colon is portrayed by living history newcomer and local restaurateur Rawli Rodriguez.
