SUMMARY:Low Water Landscape Design Studio with Dave Stockdale: Part Two
DESCRIPTION:ave Stockdale has been the Director of the WWCC Water and Environmental Center since early 2014. Dave previously worked as the Director of Education at the University of Washington Center for Urban Horticulture in Seattle. Dave also served directorships for the San Antonio Botanical Garden\, the Hughson Botanical Garden in California's central valley\, and the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture in San Francisco.\n\nJoin us for this two-part series on low water landscape design with native species. Native species can be a wonderful lower maintenance and lower water option for your home. Part one will provide an overview of plants native to our area\, design steps (creating a plot plan\, performing a site analysis\, etc.)\, design principles (form\, texture\, color\, scale\, etc.)\, planting and maintenance concerns\, where to purchase native plants\, and a field trip to explore design strategies in actual application.\n\nIn part two\, participants will bring their draft garden design and Dave will review and offer advice on your draft landscape plans. An optional third Zoom session on August 18 will be offered for further design feedback.\n\nThe Sustainable Living Center is so grateful to have Dave share his expertise with our community through this workshop! They are introducing a pay-what-you-can model for workshop registration because they believe the cost of a workshop should not be an obstacle to discovery and learning! This workshop is open to the public. Registration is required.
