DESCRIPTION:Well-known local naturalist and educator Mike Denny will be giving a talk about European naturalists who explored and documented this region in the 19th century. These naturalists and collectors include Lewis and Clark\, Thomas Nuttall\, John Kirk Townsend\, David Douglas\, John C. Fremont\, Charles E. Bendire\, and Dr. Lee Raymond Dice. Mike Denny is a Quest instructor at Walla Walla Community College and Past President of Blue Mountain Audubon Society. He was also involved in the creation of the series "Secret Life of the Forest: The Northern Blue Mountains" with editor and photographer Daniel Biggs\, which aired on Blue Mountain Television in 2019.
