Hurry down to the City Library on Tuesday\, June 20 for the start of a two-day nature fair produced by the library staff and their friends.\n\n\n\nStart by exploring some "museums in a box"   amazingly cool stuff from the Burke Museum of Natural History. Investigate mammals\, birds\, fossils\, minerals and more.\n\n\n\nBlue Mountain Wildlife from Pendleton will be here with a bunch of raptors. What are their special adaptations that make them amazing predators? How does Blue Mountain Wildlife rehabilitate injured birds? You learn it all here.\n\n\n\nTake a look at zillions of worms producing compost and learn why that's a good thing from the Sustainable Living Center. Then plunge into other hands-on activities centered around energy savings\; generate electricity\, make solar circuits\, and build a windmill.\n\n\n\nBe sure to see some of Walla Walla's biggest trees on the Superhero Trees walk led by Sue Parrish. Walla Walla has the state record for 44 different types of trees. Have fun guessing how old they are\, how tall they are\, and how big around they are. How on earth did they get here? Who planted them? What do Superhero Trees do to help us?\n\n\n\nWe guarantee that all kids\, young and old\, will find something from the natural world to inspire them\, as well as great ideas on what we all can do to sustain our home.\n\n\n\nThis event is made possible by the generous support of the Walla Walla Foundry.
