SUMMARY:Pomeroy Day
DESCRIPTION:Pomeroy is a pretty town in a big county that most people have never visited. That's a mistake.\n\n\n\nTo see just a few of the things that makes Pomeroy proud\, we will travel by bus to the Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum.\n\n\n\nThis museum was founded by a handful of residents who worked to collect\, preserve\, display and educate the public with items\, stories\, and information related to agricultural history. Its extensive collection of farm machinery\, equipment\, horse-drawn implements\, tractors\, fire trucks\, and other machinery dates from the late 1800s through the 1950s. It also includes vintage household items and a cook shack used to prepare meals during harvest.\n\n\n\nAfter our museum visit\, we'll head to the Pataha Flour Mill. A working mill from 1889 to 1943\, the 3-story wooden structure is now run as a non-profit ministry by the Van Vogt family.\n\n\n\nMuch of the original equipment is still in excellent condition\, which makes for a great educational experience. In addition to tours of the mill\, they host simple\, home-style meals in their restaurant\, as well as church services. A gift shop and a collection of historic cameras are also on site.\n\n\n\nThis will be a great day to immerse yourself in the agricultural history of the Palouse region.\n\n\n\nWe will meet at the Walla Walla Communitiy College main parking lot by the flagpole. Bus transportation will be provided.\n\n\n\nThis event is made possible by the generous support of Pape Machinery.
