She takes rocks that people walk on and teases out entire worlds that live within them. Richland artist Valerie Woods describes her macro-photographic images of stone surfaces as “treasure hunts with God,” in which she finds and reveals images of everything from people and animals to seascapes and forest landscapes. It’s a journey of discovery, standing before her work and looking to see what you will see.
