Old barns, pioneer cabins, flowers in a gazebo, trusty farm pickup trucks – the rural world is both timeless and nostalgic, reminding viewers that life is not all about being in a rush. Through February 8, Wenaha Gallery is showcasing the acrylic paintings of Mary Soper, a longtime Walla Walla artist who for 23 years taught and directed art programs in the Walla Walla and Prescott schools. (The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.)
