A ribbon cutting and open house at the Providence Express Care in College Place will be March 16 at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.
Providence Express Care opened on Feb. 20 at 1705 SE Meadowbrook St., Ste. 2, across the street from Wal-Mart. It offers same-day and walk-in appointments for common illnesses and injuries.
At the ribbon cutting and open house, Father Matthew Nicks will bless the clinic, and then brief talks will be given by Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce President David Woolson, and Dr. Timothy Davidson, Chief Executive of Physician Services at Providence Medical Group. Refreshments prepared by Executive Chef Norman Shaw will be served. Staff will be on hand as well to give tours of the clinic.
Providence Express Care treats common conditions such as colds, flu, asthma, urinary tract infections, sprains, cuts, scrapes and eye irritations. It also offers spots physicals and screening tests. It has a flat-fee pricing model, with the prices posted on the clinic wall, and also accepts insurance.
It currently is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. In April, the clinic will extend its hours to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Appointments can be scheduled online at www.providenceexpresscare.org.
