Join the Sustainable Living Center for the next workshop in our Public Workshop Series: Sustainable Gardening Practices. The workshop will begin with an overview of why sustainable gardening practices are beneficial for your heath and the environment. Then, Walla Walla Valley Farm to School program educator, Beth Thiel, will discuss the specifics of sustainable and organic gardening. The broad topics will include how to use minimal input costs for your garden and the importance of caring for the soil. More specific topics will include companion planting, rotation of plants in your garden, soil testing, organic amendments, seed saving, insect attraction, and growing your own starts. Please join us for this very informative and fun workshop!
