Volunteer and Events Coordinator

Gesa Power House Theatre (GPHT) seeks a Volunteer and Events Coordinator to lead our organization’s volunteer program and to assist with logistics related to events and rentals of the venue. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to grow our organization’s mission to generate a strong, inclusive community through performing arts. Ideal candidates are organized, hard working, adaptable, and able to motivate others to show their love for the arts through service.

WHAT DOES THIS JOB ENTAIL?
  • Volunteer Program Management: Develops and manages the volunteer program through a strategic engagement plan, including recruitment, onboard/training, coaching/mentoring, and scheduling of volunteers. It is so much fun to volunteer at the Power House Theatre - your job is to help more people take advantage of this opportunity!
  • Events Logistics: Assists in pre-event, during event, and post-event logistics as needed to ensure efficient operations of productions and shows.
  • Rental Support: Assists in the coordination and communication with rentals and engages with front-line clients with excellent customer service. 
  • Operational Support: Assists in day-to-day operations of the theater by providing general administrative and operational support via inventory, data entry, database management. 
COMPENSATION, BENEFITS, AND DETAILS
  • Flex schedule based on the need of the theater and the event calendar, with up to 25% work-from-home/remote working flexibility.
  • Work in a historic building, near downtown Walla Walla.

COMPENSATION: Starting range $19.00 to $24.00 hourly; commensurate with experience and qualifications.

WHO WE ARE
Gesa Power House Theatre (GPHT) is a nonprofit theater that brings in world-class entertainment year-round to the Walla Walla Valley. Our historic building was once Walla Walla’s gas and power plant and in 2011 it was transformed into the state-of-the-art performing arts theater that is known today. Our venue is recognized as a historic building by the Washington State Building Preservation Commission and is included in the National Register of Historic Places.
 
GPHT has grown into a local hub for live performances, including in-house productions, rentals by outside groups, and private events with the ultimate goal to be a gathering place for our community to experience the arts, engage with culture, and support learning through arts education. Each year, we connect with approximately 20,000 patrons.
