Fall Furr Ball
Mission/Vision The mission of the Blue Mountain Humane Society is to prevent cruelty and promote kindness to companion animals in our community. We are committed to stopping the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets by ending overpopulation and homelessness. To achieve this, we provide quality shelter, spay/neuter, foster care, adoption, and re-homing services for companion animals in our community. We also provide spay/neuter and humane education, animal control services, and cruelty and neglect investigation services. In cooperation with our community leaders, we work to craft legislation and policies to ensure that companion animals have homes with responsible, committed, and loving caregivers. Who We Are: The Blue Mountain Humane Society is a non-profit membership organization managed by a Board of Trustees elected by the members of the Society. The Board of Trustees meets monthly. There are several working committees of the Board that meet to address specific needs of the Humane Society and to make recommendations to the Board of Trustees. The backbone of the Society has long been those individuals and businesses that financially support the mission as Members. Each year in April, the Society holds an open Annual Meeting for Members and the general public. Previous year financials are presented at that time, as well the numbers of animals served. These figures are also reported to the local media and made available upon request to those who are unable to attend. The Fall Furr Ball: The Fall Furr Ball is our annual formal fundraiser. The funds generated from the Furr Ball directly support daily shelter operations, the most critical thing we do to meet our mission. The event will be held Saturday, October 18th, 2014, in the historic Pavilion at the Walla Walla Country Fairgrounds. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a host social hour, featuring dinner, a live and silent auction, dancing to lively music and gambling in our casino, there will be something for everyone. The entry price of $60 per person also includes two bottles of wine for each table of eight guests, social hour and $100 in play money to gamble with. Please join us in making this year?s event successful by being a sponsor, purchasing tickets, making a generous donation to the live or silent auction, and telling your friends and neighbors about the event! Thank you for your support!
