DUTIES

• Serve as the Geospatial Technician (Survey) for the Walla Walla District.

• Perform Surveying and Mapping services.

• Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), advanced modeling, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

• Create contract specifications, Architect-Engineer (A-E) service contracts, contract drawings, scope of work, government estimates, negotiation of contracts, and field data collection and reduction.

• Support large, multi-functional civil works projects during the planning, design, construction, and operation phases.

• Surveying licensure and/or training is highly desirable and should be mentioned within resume if attained (e.g. Land Surveyor Intern (LSI), Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT), surveying related education or training, etc.)
 

Required Experience:
This position requires one year of specialized experience in surveying, with duties becoming more complex at each grade level.
  • GS-7/8: Requires foundational knowledge of surveying principles and field data collection methods.
  • GS-9: Adds experience in basic topographic surveying or Unmanned Aerial Surveying (UAS).
  • GS-10: Requires a stronger emphasis on topographic or Unmanned Aerial Surveying.
  • GS-11: In addition to the above, requires experience with public land surveying techniques.
