DUTIES
• Serve as the Geospatial Technician (Survey) for the Walla Walla District.
• Perform Surveying and Mapping services.
• Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), advanced modeling, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Create contract specifications, Architect-Engineer (A-E) service contracts, contract drawings, scope of work, government estimates, negotiation of contracts, and field data collection and reduction.
• Support large, multi-functional civil works projects during the planning, design, construction, and operation phases.
• Surveying licensure and/or training is highly desirable and should be mentioned within resume if attained (e.g. Land Surveyor Intern (LSI), Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT), surveying related education or training, etc.)
This position requires one year of specialized experience in surveying, with duties becoming more complex at each grade level.
- GS-7/8: Requires foundational knowledge of surveying principles and field data collection methods.
- GS-9: Adds experience in basic topographic surveying or Unmanned Aerial Surveying (UAS).
- GS-10: Requires a stronger emphasis on topographic or Unmanned Aerial Surveying.
- GS-11: In addition to the above, requires experience with public land surveying techniques.
