Momentum Matters

Momentum Matters

Momentum doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens when people show up - for their businesses, for their workforce, and for their community. That is the energy shaping 2026 at the Chamber. Across the Valley, entrepreneurs are recalibrating, expanding, mentoring, and asking what comes next. While we cannot control every economic headwind, we can control how intentionally we build connection.
At the Chamber, that work happens in visible and quiet ways.
It happens when a new business owner walks through our doors unsure of their next step — and leaves with introductions and a clearer path forward. It happens when established leaders volunteer to mentor young professionals. It happens when community members raise their hands to serve as ambassadors for the region we all call home.
Our Community Concierge program is one of the clearest examples of that spirit. Volunteers assist at Chamber programs and partner events, welcome newcomers, and help shape first impressions of the Walla Walla Valley. It is more than staffing an event - it is strengthening relationships and reinforcing that this is a community that shows up.
At the same time, we continue investing in the long view.
Film Walla Walla Valley, now in its third year of a 10-year rural economic development initiative, is steadily building the foundation for creative industry growth in our region. Through collaboration with educators, filmmakers, tourism leaders, and local government, the goal is clear: diversify our economy, support workforce pathways, and create opportunity that keeps talent here. Our current internship opportunity invites students to step directly into that work - contributing to a real initiative with real momentum.
Growth also happens face-to-face.
On March 10th, we will gather for our next Chamber After Hours, hosted at the Chamber in partnership with the Union-Bulletin team. These evenings are intentional opportunities to build visibility, strengthen relationships, and support the businesses and organizations that keep our region informed and engaged. If you have been meaning to reconnect, meet new clients, or reintroduce your business to the broader community, this is your moment. Bring your business cards. Bring a colleague. Show up ready to engage.
And growth happens when we pause to align.
On March 31st, we will host our Chamber 2026 Update via Zoom - open to members and community businesses. During this session, we will outline new initiatives and program directions, share strategic priorities, and leave ample time for live Q&A. We will also offer practical guidance on how to maximize the Chamber’s Membership Information Center (MIC) to elevate your visibility and market your firm more effectively. If you have ever wondered how to extract more value from your membership - or how to position your business more strategically - this is the moment to log in, lean in, and help shape the year ahead.
If your business is ready for its next chapter, the Chamber also currently has a flexible office suite available just off downtown - offering parking, conference room access, secure entry, and yes, a friendly four-legged greeter who takes his welcoming duties seriously.
From volunteer engagement to workforce development, from marketing education to meaningful networking, each initiative reflects a single focus: connecting businesses with the people, tools, and opportunity they need to move forward with clarity and confidence.
That is what it means to champion business, build community, and drive the Valley’s economy — together.
