Christmas Market at the Dayton Historic Depot
Dayton, WASH – Christmas magic is real at two of Dayton, Washington’s museums in the Town That Still Believes. The Christmas Market at the Depot and a Boldman House Christmas are part of Historic Dayton’s Christmas Kickoff event the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. The Christmas Market at the Depot will be open Friday, November 25th from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday, November 26th from 10 am to 5 pm at 222 E. Commercial. Hand-crafted gifts include local foods, such as handmade candy, local honey, micro roast coffee, and PEO bean soup. The non-edible hand-crafted gifts include wooden spoons and other wooden ware, jewelry by local artists, other local art, including pottery, soap, and cards. This year, there will also be some vintage items for sale in the Depot’s upstairs gallery. In addition, the Dayton High School FFA will have a fundraiser on our courtyard. They will be selling poinsettias and wreaths made from fresh greens. A special treat on Friday this year will be model trains running in the upstairs gallery from 10:00-12:00 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. Bring the young and young-at-heart to enjoy these wonderful trains. The Depot’s Gift Shop is fully stocked with new gift items for everyone in the family. Come find a book on local western history, Christmas ornaments, low technology games, soaps and lotions, and many other unique gifts and stocking stuffers. A Boldman House Christmas takes visitors magically back in time. Period costumes and decorations are featured in this fully-restored historic home located at 410 N. First Street. Listen to live music from local pianists on Friday 1:00-3:00 p.m. or Saturday 1:00-2:00 p.m. Free nose flutes (a favorite of the Boldman Sisters), and Boldman family recipes will be available. Hours for the event are Friday and Saturday from 1 – 4 pm, and admission is free. Dayton’s Christmas Kickoff also features a lighted Christmas parade and fabulous winter fireworks Friday night, an ugly sweater fun run, live music, hayrides, Santa Claus, live nativity, and unique shopping on Dayton’s nostalgic Main Street.
