Power House Movie: "All Sorts" (plus live Q&A with the director)
Gesa Power House Theatre presents a Power House Movie screening of the 2021 independent film "All Sorts" on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
Director J. Rick Castañeda will be in attendance for a live Q&A following the screening.
“We’re really excited to bring this film to Walla Walla” said Castañeda, who grew up in Granger, Washington. “Growing up in Eastern Washington, I didn’t have a lot of opportunity to attend red carpet premieres with actors and filmmakers until I moved to Los Angeles, and it really is the most amazing thing. The lights, the pictures, hearing the filmmakers talk about what it was like to make the film … it’s all part of the Hollywood experience, and I’m excited to bring that back to where I grew up.”
"All Sorts," a movie about a lonely data entry clerk who stumbles into the world of championship folder filing, is a quirky comedy about finding magic in everyday life. The main character, Diego, played by Eli Vargas ("Arrested Development"), is desperate to find a job, excitement, and even love. New on the job at a strange company, Diego stumbles into an incredibly fast filer named June, played by Greena Park ("The Comedown"), and the two journey through a wildly unexpected office adventure.
Filmed almost entirely in Toppenish, WA and Yakima, WA, this surreal workplace comedy from director J. Rick Castaneda ("Cement Suitcase") premiered digitally at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) in 2021.
