PWS - Closet Conscious
How can we make more sustainable and ethical choices when it comes to our clothes? This interactive workshop will explore how our clothing choices affect people and the planet and offer practical tools for more environmentally friendly and ethical clothing consumption. The session will include a presentation on how to shop more sustainably—from choosing quality and durable garments to considering materials, production practices, and ethical working conditions. We’ll then put these ideas into practice with a hands-on clothes mending workshop led by Whitman College Student Sofia Maldonado. Learn simple techniques to repair and extend the life of your favorite garments, helping reduce waste and get more wear out of the clothes you already own. Presenters: Leah Barnes, Sofia Maldonado
