To Kill a Mockingbird (matinee)

The Little Theatre of Walla Walla will stage the drama "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee (dramatized by Christopher Sergel) with performances March 29, 30, April 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14. 

Scout, a young girl in a quiet southern town, is about to experience dramatic events that will affect the rest of her life. She and brother, Jem, are being raised by their widower father, Atticus, and by their strong-minded housekeeper named Calpurnia. Set in 1935, this play examines the social issues of this time period as Atticus is appointed as the lawyer to defend a young black man accused of a crime against a white woman. 

A literature classic, this dramatization incorporates an older Jean Louise (Scout) as a narrator reflecting back on the event that shaped her childhood. 

"To Kill a Mockingbird" is directed by Robert Randall and Cheryl Sutlick and produced by Barbara McKinney with permission of Dramatic Publishing. Sunday matinee performances begin at 2:00 p.m. All other performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Late seating is not permitted. This play contains adult content.

Tickets to To Kill a Mockingbird ($20 Adults, $15 Students/Youth) will be available online at www.ltww.org beginning on Tuesday, March 26. Season pass holders may call the box office at 509-529-3683 on Monday, March 25 to reserve their seats in advance.
